Event highlights Mental Illness Awareness Week

FORT KENT, Maine - The National Alliance on Mental Illness, the University of Maine at Fort Kent Behavioral Science Program and the Aroostook Mental Health Center will host a community conversation in recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week, Oct. 2-7.

The event will take place Monday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the Nadeau Hall conference room on the UMFK campus.

All are welcome to attend to hear an overview of NAMI Maine programs, followed by a question-and-answer session. Those attending will hear two inspirational stories of how mental health challenges impact people's lives.
