Avalon Center works to end domestic and sexual violence by breaking the cycle of abuse through prevention, education, shelter and support services in the Williamsburg area.

Avalon operates 365 days per year providing safety and shelter for women, men and children in the greater Williamsburg region who are fleeing domestic and/or sexual violence. The five-acre Avalon Shelter Campus can accommodate some 50 individuals and encompasses a 20-bed communal shelter, six apartments, a counseling and life skills center, and bucolic grounds for outdoor activities including playground, picnic area and sports court.

Staff provides a 24-hour helpline and outreach line answering thousands of calls, collaborating closely with law enforcement, local and state agencies and schools to support our neighbors most in need.

All Avalon services are provided in confidence and without charge.
