Grief / Bereavement Support Groups
(Temporarily Suspended) The Compassionate Friends of Williamsburg Monthly Meeting
Network of Care for Mental Health
Second Mon of every month starting at 7:00pm
Categories:
The Compassionate Friends is a local chapter of an international organization which exists to provide friendship, understanding and hope to adults grieving the death of a child, grandchild or sibling. When a child dies, the whole world seems to have crashed around you. Emptiness may grip you that nothing seems to fill. As shock fades away, you may feel helplessness and depression that will leave you unable to function. The world has changed ? and so have you. Your decision to walk through the doors of a meeting of The Compassionate Friends is a difficult one. But, here you will not be judged and will find the friendship of others who understand much of what you are feeling. We join together as a peer-led support group to remember our children, learn coping skills and to make friendships that can help carry us through the most difficult time of our lives. Our Williamsburg Chapter meets the second Monday of each month at Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg from 7:00-8:30 PM. The group is facilitated by the Hospice House Chaplain, Hannah Creager and Charlotte Moyler. To learn more about the group, please contact Charlotte Moyler, Chapter Facilitator at 757-903-1641 or email: wmsburgcompassionatefriends@gmail.com.
