Learn about self-care, mental health at Wellington mall this weekend

Palm Beach Post - 2/7/2020

WELLINGTON -- An upcoming event aims to help women learn how to treat themselves better, improving their mental, emotional and physical health.

Dare to Self-Care, hosted by Retreat Behavioral Health, is 1-4 p.m. Sunday in the Live360 Court at the Mall at Wellington Green, 10300 Forest Hill Blvd.

Money raised benefits the 211 Crisis Hotline, which provides free community information to help with suicide prevention, crisis intervention, information and referrals.

"In our fast-paced society, it can be hard to slow down and make sure that you're taking care of yourself," Retreat Behavioral Health CEO Peter Schorr said in a news release. "We hope that by providing access to events like this, we can encourage more people to integrate self-care into their everyday lives."

Admission is free, with free activities include a journaling and creative writing class, acupuncture demos and health assessments. There also will be mini-makeovers and free swag bags for the first 100 attendees.

For an additional fee, guests can take classes in yoga, Zumba and Krav Maga self-defense. Each class is $25 for one, $35 for two or $50 for all three. To reserve a spot in a class, email Marissa Hayes at marissah@retreatmail.com.

The Live360 Court is on the first floor across from the food court, outside the former Nordstrom space.
