Newport News Behavioral Health Center (formally known as Keystone), a 108 bed facility offering residential Treatment Services for adolescent male and females age 11-17.
Services include:
Acute Care Treatment for Children and Adolescents: a free-standing hospital on the same campus as residential with 24 Acute Care beds for adolescents ages 8 -17, both male and female, requiring immediate stabilization for mental health crisis.
Comprehensive Assessment Program (CAP): serves male and female clients between the ages of 11-18. It is a time-limited program that provides expert evaluation and treatment of youth who have complex emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric symptoms. The CAP program is designed to stabilize clients who may be experiencing significant impairment in their thinking, mood or behavioral functioning.
Residential Treatment for Adolescents: for adolescent male and females age 11-17.Services include:
Project Valor: residential treatment for adolescent male sexual offenders and sexual abusers, ages 11-17, in need of intensive sex offender-specific treatment.Substance Abuse Treatment: a service within our Co-Occurring Disorders program, for males and females, ages 11 to 18. This program encourages residents to reach and maintain a healthy lifestyle without the use of mood-altering substances.
Trauma Treatment: for male and female residents who have experienced significant trauma in their lives. A dedicated unit (Golden Stars) offers female residents a secure, caring, and enriched environment in which they can grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
Seeking Safety was designed for males and females with trauma history, but who do not meet criteria for PTSD. Females ages 11-17, with an IQ of 60 and above are considered for the trauma unit.
Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services (ARTS): substance use treatment services - no co-occurring disorder diagnosis is needed to enter the program.
